Job Description
**Primary Purpose**
Provide **occupational therapy services to students with disabilities** to improve their ability to **participate in school activities** (learning, writing, self-care, and classroom tasks) and meet their **IEP goals** .
**Key Job Duties (Newton County Specific)**
**1. Evaluation & Assessment**
1. Assess and document students’ **educational and therapy needs**
2. Conduct screenings and identify students who need occupational therapy services
3. Evaluate areas such as:
4. Fine motor skills
5. Sensory processing
6. Coordination and daily living skills
**2. Therapy & Intervention**
1. Develop and implement **individualized occupational therapy programs**
2. Use **innovative techniques and strategies** to support student progress
3. Provide therapy to improve:
4. Handwriting
5. Classroom participation
6. Independence in school tasks
