Occupational Therapist - Women's Secure Forensic Unit

Overview

The Complex Care and Recovery Program seeks a full‑time, permanent Occupational Therapist for the Women’s Secure Forensic Unit and the Structured Observation and Treatment Unit. The role reports to the Unit Manager and involves working with forensic female inpatients detained at medium security under the jurisdiction of the Ontario Review Board (ORB). You will apply an evidence‑based intervention that combines psychiatric and discipline‑specific assessment with intensive care using Cognitive Adaptation Training principles.

Responsibilities

• Formulate treatment plans and monitor patients’ responses to therapeutic interventions.
• Participate in preparation of Ontario Review Board reports and the unit’s risk‑management program.
• Provide initial assessments to determine clients’ skills, needs, overall rehabilitation readiness, and mental status.
