Ophthalmic Assistant

Location: 200 N. Robertson Blvd. Schedule/Shift: Monday-Friday and 1 weekend per month Required: BLS from AHA or ARC, Ophthalmic Assistant Certificate, Experience with vision insurance and benefit plans, 6+ months of experience working in a vision center setting Preferred: Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA), VF, IOL, OCT, and Optos experience

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Ophthalmic Assistants/Medical assistants acting under the supervision of a physician or optometrist may:

• Fit prescription lenses
• Prepare patients for examinations
• Take patient history and other preliminary patient data
• Perform simple non-invasive testing of visual acuity, pupils, and ocular motility
• Perform automated visual field testing
• Perform ophthalmic photography and digital imaging
• Perform tonometry
• Perform lensometry
