Job Description
Reporting to a Consultant Opthalmologist, Orthoptist performs orthoptic evaluation on children and adult patients and prescribes corrective action to gain normal and effective vision.
Essential Responsibilities & Duties
Performs orthoptic examination and testing as directed by referring physicians. Maintains ophthalmic equipment by general servicing and maintenance. Assists in the development of procedures for technical and clinical activities. Ensures adequate inventory of consumables and supplies for designated area. Performs other applicable tasks and duties assigned within the realm of his/her knowledge, skills and abilities. Participates in self and others' education, training and development, as applicable.
