DescriptionManages patient’s admissions, insurance coverage, bed coverage, and discharge.
Responsibilities Collect, verify, and input patient information paperwork with appropriate financial and demographic forms into the M.I.S system Obtains all old medical record numbers from the Medical Records Department for patients previously in the system, or when appropriate assigns new medical record number Receives information from the Emergency Department on incoming emergency admissions. Admits and interviews patients scheduled for elective, emergency, OB, ambulatory surgery and pre-admission prior to admission to the hospital following established procedures Registers people for private outpatient registration office.
