Job Description

Our client is looking for an experienced Payroll Accountant to join their team in Edmonton, Alberta. This role supports payroll accounting operations, financial reporting, and collaboration with internal teams and external service providers. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, sound judgement, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage complex payroll reconciliations in a hybrid work environment.
Responsibilities:
Monitor payroll accounting activities and ensure accurate payroll reporting in the general ledger.
Review payroll data from external providers, resolve discrepancies, and coordinate corrections.
Prepare payroll journal entries and reconcile payroll-related accounts.
Maintain accurate employee cost allocations across departments and cost centres.
Coordinate payroll remittances and ensure compliance with deadlines and regulations.
