Peer Counselor

Job Description Summary

:Responsible for assisting the Manager with the overall operation of the consumer run Peer Support Center and the implementation of program goals and objectives.
Under the supervision of the Manager and the Program Manager, the Peer Counselor is responsible for assigned shift with flexible requirements. Incumbent subject to over time and call back as needed to insure uninterrupted services of the program.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Participates in the planning, scheduling and implementing of program activities.

Assists with maintenance of program records.

Obtains ongoing training in peer counseling techniques.

Provides support and appropriate referral to individual consumers.

Provides safe transportation of consumers to and from the Peer Support Center and all related activities and trips as assigned by Manager. Prepares and maintains accurate records of the vans, maintains routine maintenance and cleanlin...
