Summary Incumbent is a clinical pharmacist at this Fayetteville VAMC. Rotation through Inpatient and Outpatient sections is required. Must possess a professional knowledge of a wide range of concepts, principles, and practices of pharmacy science. CLINICAL (1) Incumbent provides consultation to outpatients and family members regarding medications as to their use, side effects, and precautions. Reviews polyprescriptions for drug interactions, potential synergism, and consults with prescriber(s) on course of action. (2) The incumbent furnishes the medical staff and nursing staff advice or information regarding drug usage, availability, storage, dosage, and incompatibilities etc. (3) Screens patient profiles for correct medication, dosage, drug/drug or drug/food interactions before dispensing when rotating thr...
