This physician role is essential to providing accessible primary care and women’s health services across the East Region’s 15-county area, particularly for uninsured populations who rely on local health departments as their primary source of care. By delivering direct patient services, offering clinical oversight for advanced practice nurses, and supporting county and regional operations. The role ensures continuity of care, supports medically underserved communities, and upholds TDH’s mission to protect, promote, and improve the health and wellbeing of all people in Tennessee.
