Job Description
Position Title:
- Piano/Organ Player Location: VA San Diego Healthcare System Chapel, 3350 La Jolla Village Drive, San Diego, CA 92161 Key Responsibilities Provide piano and/or organ accompaniment for: Catholic Mass services (approx. 52 hours/year) Protestant Worship services (approx. 52 hours/year) Special worship services/events (approx. 6 hours/year) Coordinate musical selections with the Chaplain or designated worship leader.
- Arrive at scheduled services on time and fully prepared.
- Perform preludes, postludes, hymns, responses, and other liturgical musical pieces required for each service.
- Attend rehearsals or run-throughs as needed to ensure smooth service execution.
- Minimum Qualifications Demonstrated proficiency in piano and organ performance.
- Strong understanding of Catholic and/or Protestant liturgical music traditions.
- Prior experience providing worship music in a chapel, church, or similar setting.
