Responsibilities

Reporting to the Infrastructure Manager, the Planning and Development Engineer leads the team of Development and Planning Technologists (DPTs) and Assistant Development and Planning Technologists (ADPTs) in processing roadside development and planning activities such as municipal referrals, utility installations, development applications, highway access requests, and sign installations. They provide both day-to-day management of the development and planning team and senior technical support on various referrals and applications.

This position liaises with regional Bridge, Construction, and Operations sections, other Transportation and Economic Corridors staff, other Ministry staff, stakeholders and the general public, delivering responses to inquiries in planning and development matters that are technically sound and meet accepted Department standards and policies.
