Post-Doctoral Fellows – Public Health Ethics

Western University's Centre for Bioethics is hiring multiple post-doctoral fellows to conduct normative and empirical research on ethical questions that arise in the context of infectious diseases, including fair allocation of scarce resources (vaccines, therapeutics, diagnostics), balancing individual rights and societal interests in public health interventions (isolation, quarantine, mandates), and translating ethics research into decision-making during emergencies.

Applicants must have graduate-level education and experience in bioethics and public health, with methodological expertise suitable for the required research. Qualifications include a strong background in public health ethics relevant to infectious disease ethics and the capacity to pursue research on the aforementioned topics.

Start date : Flexible, September 2026 preferred
Duration : 1 year, renewable for a second year
