Job Description

A position for a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher is available in the Research Group “Protein Actions in Neurodegeneration” led by Dr. Susanne Wegmann for 6 months starting from July 2026 or at the earliest possible date. 
We are looking for an ambitious, open-minded Postdoc who is enthusiastic and knowledgeable about autoantibodies in autoimmune encephalitis (AE) research (e.g., NMDAREs) and adeno-associated virus (AAV) vector technology. 
You are expected to finish work regarding an ongoing project on a novel approach of NR1 autoantibody delivery for experimental modelling of NMDAREs, and to develop vectors for similar AE disease models. T
he work will include in vitro and in vivo experiments (e.g., using AAB AAV vectors in primary cell cultures, organotypic slices, and in vivo) as well as data analysis and manuscript preparation. Good communication skills and excellent knowledge of the English language are expected.
