Job Description
Overview Postdoctoral Associate in Dr. Jennifer Trowbridge's laboratory at The Jackson Laboratory in Bar Harbor, Maine. The Trowbridge lab is dedicated to uncovering the fundamental mechanisms that govern hematopoietic stem cell (HSC) biology across three interconnected areas: HSC aging - both the cell-intrinsic changes that accumulate over a lifetime and alterations that occur in the bone marrow microenvironment where these cells reside Clonal hematopoiesis - understanding why somatic mutations in epigenetic regulatory genes (e.g., DNMT3A, TET2, ASXL1) are selectively expanded in HSCs with aging, and how they modify risk of aging-associated diseases Hematologic malignancies - the mechanisms by which clonal hematopoiesis progresses to myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) and acute myeloid leukemia (AML) Our long-term goal is to identify intervention strategies that extend healthspan of blood stem cells — preserving their regenerative capacity into older age and reducing the risk of b...
