The Role
| Te MahiThis is an exciting opportunity for a postdoctoral fellow to work on a research project, performed under the supervision of Dr. Matthew McNeil, which will identify and analyse the impact of drug resistance mutations on mycobacterial physiology. Variants of interest identified from clinical and experimental datasets will be constructed in a laboratory strains of diverse mycobacterial pathogens. The impact of constructed mutations will be investigated using physiological assessments of bacterial fitness, in addition to genetic essentiality and proteomic workflows.
The appointed researcher will be required to drive their own experimental investigations, and contribute to wider research efforts in the group. This will include supervision of junior scientists including post-graduate students. Therefore kindness, inclusivity, teamwork and respect for others is essential.
