Job Description

We are seeking

a well organised and self-motivated researcher to work on the Faraday Institution funded SOLBAT project, reporting to Prof. Mauro Pasta. Applicants must hold PhD/DPhil in Materials Science or Chemistry (or be close to completion), together with relevant experience in the field of solid-state batteries, in addition to a first-class bachelor or master’s degree in Materials Science or Chemistry and have significant expertise in the following areas: • Mechanical and microstructural characterisation of ceramic materials;
• Metallurgy and processing of air-sensitive alloys;
• Characterisation of air- and beam-sensitive battery materials, particularly using: o Solid-state NMR; o (Plasma) focused ion beam (FIB) techniques; o Laboratory-based and synchrotron-based characterisation methods;
