Psychiatrist

Job Description:

•    Responsible for patient care that includes examination, evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of medical illnesses for adult and geriatric psychiatric inpatient population.


• Serves as medical consultant to the attending psychiatrist/practitioner.
• Completes admission medical assessments (including history and physical examinations, mental status examination) and entering admission orders.
• Orders diagnostic/therapeutic tests and procedures.  Monitors patient's progress, including laboratory values and special procedures with appropriate follow-up or referrals as needed.
• Consults with authorized representatives/legal guardians on patient medical status.
• Collaborates with attending psychiatric practitioner if needed providing DSM-5 Diagnoses that are valid, complete, and supported by timely and appropriate assessment.
