Public Safety Captain - Patrol & Training

Job Summary

Serve as a command-level officer with responsibility for directing and managing law enforcement operations for an assigned division, shift, or specialized unit of the university's police/public safety department. Provide leadership in patrol, investigations, emergency response, and community policing to ensure a safe and secure campus environment. Act as the commanding officer in the absence of higher-level leadership.

Responsibilities

Typical Allocation of Duties:

Command and Supervision - 30%
Direct the daily operations of assigned division or shift, including patrol, investigations, traffic, and special operations. Supervise and evaluate lieutenants, sergeants, corporals, and officers. Provide direction during critical incidents and ensure proper adherence to departmental policies.
