Job Description
Summary
This position accurately applies ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis, including skills required in performing a variety of technical procedures, resulting in the highest quality diagnostic radiograph, with the least amount of radiation exposure to the patient. This position takes into consideration all specific age groups as well as known disease.
Responsibilities
(25%)* Performs radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures as ordered by a physician utilizing accurate application of ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis and treatment of patients varying in age: infants, children, adults and geriatric.
(25%)* Positions patient and equipment appropriately to accurately demonstrate the area being examined, requiring extensive anatomic positioning skills.
(25%)* Provides appropriate radiation protection for patient and staff during radiation exposures according to prescribed safety standards.
