Role: Post-anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) nurse providing recovery care after anesthesia. Education: entry typically a diploma, an associate degree in nursing (ADN) or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) followed by passage of the NCLEX-RN to obtain licensure. Credentials: state licensure as an RN; many pursue additional specialty certifications, though board certification is not universal for all practice.
