Organization Overview

The Bargmann laboratory studies genes and neural pathways that allow animals to generate flexible behaviors. We use the simple nervous system of nematodes to examine circuits, neuromodulatory systems, and cellular and molecular mechanisms that underlie innate behaviors.
Overview

We are seeking a Research Assistant with an interest in molecular neuroscience to join our lab and assist with experiments in several species of nematodes.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include:

+ Performing RNA Fluorescence _in situ_ Hybridization to analyze gene expression in nematodes
+ Performing _C. elegans_ injections, genetics, and PCR to generate and validate CRISPR strains
+ Quantitative microscopy and image analysis
+ Maintenance of nematode strains
+ Participation in weekly laboratory meetings and planning sessions
