Job Description
Applications are invited for a temporary post of a Research grazing systems technologist within UCD School of Agriculture and Food Science. A researcher is required to support research activities in the field of ruminant livestock production and enteric methane emissions. The focus of this project is to determine the impact of sward type on performance and environmental impact of grazing beef cattle with a specific focus on the impacts of enhanced sward botanical diversity of rumen fermentation and enteric methane emissions including the development of methane emissions factors. Irish livestock production systems are predominantly pasture based and until recently sown pastures have been predominantly ryegrass monocultures. Salary: €46,000 per annum.
