Research Intern (Academic Credit) - Department of Neurology - Per Diem (Onsite)

**Description**
**Overview of Department & Mentor:**
Acute stroke treatment has evolved greatly over the past few years. Imaging, omic’s and genetics can reveal patients’ clinical trajectory and identify novel therapeutic pathways to develop new stroke and cerebrovascular disease treatments. The goal of this project is to assist in the development of blood biomarkers, MRI, and clinical outcomes database for bioinformatics for stroke cerebrovascular disease research. Students will work on projects as part of the SkRIPT program, which incorporates team science and career development program for trainees with an interest in stroke.
**Role Activities & Timeline:**
This internship will provide and introduction to clinical research. The intern will be taught the importance of human subject’s protection, HIPAA, research compliance, IRB review.
