RN Cardiac Critical Care - CVRU

About the unit:


The Cardiovascular Recovery Unit (CVRU) is a fast paced, highly specialized 9-bed critical care unit located right next to the Meijer Heart Center OR’s that is dedicated to providing world class recovery care of patients who have undergone all types of cardiac surgical procedures.  Typical surgeries include Coronary artery bypass grafts (CABG), valve replacement/repair, aortic dissection repair, cardiac ablations, and TAVR’s.  Our nurses are fully ICU trained (including on IABP’s, PA catheters, sheaths, ventilators, etc) and provide the complete recovery care needed for these patients until they are hemodynamically stable and ready to transfer to the progressive care unit or to the Cardiothoracic ICU if the critical care needs are anticipated to last greater than 24 hrs.  Our nurses have a lot of autonomy and work very closely with the cardiac surgery team to make sure these complex patients receive everything they need to assure optimal outcomes.      <...
