The Intermediate and Acute Care unit at UNC Rex in Raleigh is a 29-bed unit averaging a 1:4 nursing ratio specializing in a diverse patient population including but not limited to:

· general and thoracic post-operative patients

· cardiovascular patients requiring drip management

· cardiac patients managing acute exacerbations and unstable angina

Summary: Provides competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards. Reporting and accountable to the Nurse Manager/Director, the Clinical Nurse is responsible for coordinating and delivering patient care utilizing the nursing process in a hospital setting.
