Job Description
CVICU / Registered Nurse Position
This is a 13-week contract position.
Night shifts - 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30). Every other weekend and holiday required, as applicable.
The CVICU Registered Nurse will provide specialized care for patients in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit. The nurse will utilize advanced nursing skills to manage a diverse patient population including fresh hearts, ventilated patients, chest tubes, and lumbar drains.
Responsibilities:
- Provide post-operative care for patients who have undergone cardiac surgery.
- Administer medications and manage IV infusions including cardiac drips and sedation.
- Monitor vital signs and patient conditions, interpreting dysrhythmias and arterial blood gases.
- Assist with the insertion and management of chest tubes and central lines.
