Job Description
ECT Registered Nurse (RN)
The shift begins as early as 5 AM Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. The ECT nurse is responsible for all safety and patient activities before, during, and after an ECT treatment. The nurse is expected to follow all safety practices, infection control, ECT, and hospital policies and procedures. Our ECT Recovery RNs work in a fast-paced PACU setting, recovering patients who received ECT treatments. Our RNs also work closely with our psychiatrists and anesthesiologists to deliver safe care.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of accredited school of nursing – BSN preferred
- Minimum three (3) year's of experience as a Registered Nurse, preferably six (6) months in psychiatric nursing
- ICU, PACU, emergency room, medical-surgical, acute care medical hospital experience is required
- Cardiac monitor, AED, ECT machine, Intravenous access skills, Code Blue response, use of nebulizer, general anesthesia recovery, suction...
