About the unit
The 20 bed MICU treats severely ill patients using a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to care. Our patient population includes severe sepsis, acute respiratory failure, shock, acute respiratory distress syndrome, multisystem organ failure, gastrointestinal bleeds, diabetic ketoacidosis, hypertensive crisis and acute/chronic renal failure. Our highly skilled nurses demonstrate critical thinking and physical assessment skills that set them apart from other teams as they manage this acutely ill patient population.
