RN Step Down

Department: Stepdown Intermediate Care

Shift Timings: 18:45- 07:15 Hours, Monday to Friday 3 days 12 hours shift.

Per Week: 36 Hours.

• Unit Capacity: 36 Beds Population Served: Cardiac and Neuro Stepdown: Cardiac bedside monitoring, Cardiac drips, TR bands, Post heart caths, Stroke/Neuro patients, BIPAP overflows Ages of Patients Served: Young Adult through Late Adult (18 - 60+) Nurse to Patient Ratios: 1:6 Core Staffing Plan: Variable staffing grid to include: Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Patient Care Technicians (PCTs), Nurse Interns (NIs). An RN assumes full responsibility for the patients on each team.


• Staffing Certification:


• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)


• Certification National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Successful completion of a proctored rhythm test
