Job Responsibilities

Forsome clinical placements, the instructor is expected to be on-site with the student(s) during the entire clinical experience. For other clinical sites, the instructor will be available to the students but move among different sites during the scheduled clinical time. In different clinical learning experiences, the instructor will not be at the clinical site and the student will be supervised by a designated preceptor. 

Depending on the type of clinical learning experience, the instructor can be expected to conduct a pre-shift meeting/prebriefing, a mid-shift huddle, and a debriefing/post-conference. The specific expectations for each clinical assignment will be specified in the instructor's contract. Travel to the nursing worksite at least once weekly is required as part of the clinical adjunct’s position and is considered the adjunct’s primary worksite.
