Safety & Security Officer- Security- Varied shifts, per diem

Conducts preventative security and safety patrols throughout buildings and grounds. Provides security for the hospital and clinic patients, visitors, and staff and safeguards the property by immediately responding to all requests and emergency codes. Provides leadership and direction to staff in crisis situations to control disruptive behavior. Maintains alertness for unusual and abnormal conditions or suspicious activities. Observes unauthorized persons and notifies supervisor or police appropriately. Inspects equipment such as radios, fire extinguishers, panic alarms, AED units, emergency phones, etc. for faulty or malfunctioning operations and reports to the appropriate department. Reports potential fire or safety hazards. Performs and participates in related Safety / Emergency Management / Security drills and tests.
