Job Description
Senior Accountant
Location: Swellendam, Western Cape
A well-established accounting practice in Swellendam is seeking a skilled and hands-on Senior Accountant to manage a diverse client portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review annual financial statements and monthly management accounts
- Oversee bookkeeping and general ledger accuracy
- Manage full SARS compliance (VAT, PAYE, provisional tax and income tax)
- Liaise with SARS on audits and verifications
- Provide financial advisory and tax-planning support to clients
- Supervise and mentor junior staff
Requirements
- SAIPA / SAICA / AGA(SA) registered (or equivalent)
- Minimum 3 years’ post-articles experience in an accounting practice
- Strong knowledge of IFRS for SMEs and South African tax legislation
- Experience with Sage, Xero, Draftworx and MS Excel
