Senior Disability Claims Consultant (Toronto)

Responsibilities

• Manage your litigated block of cases with a proactive customer‑service focus, applying Sun Life’s resolution strategies.
• Represent Sun Life professionally at mediations, examinations for discovery, pre‑trials, trials, grievance arbitrations and other judicial or quasi‑judicial proceedings.
• Instruct our legal counsel on the final disposition of litigated claims.
• Handle other escalated matters efficiently and in a customer‑service oriented manner.
• Provide leadership in complex case management.
• Build a strong knowledge of litigation‑management strategies.
• Work to improve quality outcomes.
• Build relationships with your manager and other litigation‑management team members to meet business outcomes.
• Create and deliver presentations to disability claims operations on common litigation trends and other relevant topics.
