| Basic Function |
Accessions and processes pathology specimens. Embeds processed tissue, cuts the blocks embedded, stains and coverslips the slides. Delivers prepared slides and corresponding slips and special staining as requested or assigned. |
| Requirements |
Must be licensed as a Clinical Laboratory Technician or Certified Histological Technician by the New York State Education Department and ASCP certified as Histotechnician (HT). Associate degree in science. Medical Laboratory Technology-Histology program preferred. Must possess high degree of accuracy, exhibit responsible behavior.
