Senior Medical Officer - Endocrinology & General Medicine

About the Role

Based at Tauranga Hospital, 1.0 FTE, fixed term for 12 months starting in November 2026. The role provides sabbatical cover for the department and involves general outpatient work across diabetes and endocrinology. The position also includes working in Acute General Medicine approximately half of the time. The multidisciplinary model of care is supported by specialist nurses and allied health professionals.

Responsibilities

• Deliver general outpatient services in diabetes and endocrinology.
• Provide acute general medical care for approximately 50% of the time.
• Participate in multidisciplinary care with specialist nurses and allied health professionals.

Qualifications

Applicants must hold or be eligible for vocational registration with the New Zealand Medical Council or be training in NZ and have 6 months or less of advanced training remaining to achieve FRACP.
