Overview

Senior Research Nurse (2 positions) – Neonatal Infection Research – Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Department of Paediatrics and Child Health, Stellenbosch University.

One‑year fixed term contract (Posvlak 9).

Duties & Responsibilities

• Work closely with neonatal research doctors and investigators.
• Identify, screen, obtain consent and enrol eligible participants for neonatal infection studies.
• Prepare and administer intravenous trial antibiotics to babies.
• Collect, record and capture study data and medical information according to guidelines.
• Follow up enrolled patients until hospital discharge and contact them telephonically after discharge.
• Organise and curate study records and data.
• Provide weekly updates on new study recruits and follow‑up statistics.
• Assist with adverse event reporting to HREC and SAHPRA.
