About the Role

At Westpac NZ, the Payments Engineering team focuses on creating simple, safe and seamless banking experiences for our customers. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will design, build and evolve Java‑based API services that support critical payment flows, working closely with product, platform and engineering teams to contribute to architecture decisions and uplift API‑first capability across the payment domain. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to align on and implement architectural changes while delivering new customer features in a fast‑paced, evolving environment. Your work will help balance speed, quality and risk, ensuring solutions meet regulatory, security and compliance requirements.
