Senior Specialist Economist (146505)

Job Purpose

Nedbank’s Group Economic Unit is looking to employ a seasoned economist, with between 5‑10 years’ experience in the private banking industry or financial markets. The ideal candidate must have considerable experience and a deep understanding of the global and domestic macroeconomic landscape, and its implications for foreign exchange rates, interest rates, and developments within the global and domestic bond and equity markets.

Job Responsibilities

The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include:

• Contribute to shaping Nedbank’s view of the global and domestic business cycle and longer‑term structural shifts through regular reports, forecasts and presentations to internal and external stakeholders. The specific focus areas are:
