About the role:
The Victorian Sex Offenders Register was established under legislation in 2004 and supports community safety by requiring registered sex offenders to provide police with current information about their whereabouts and other prescribed personal details for the duration of their registration. The legislation is designed to reduce the risk of reoffending, support the investigation of offences and prevent registered sex offenders from engaging in child-related employment.
The Sex Offender Registry Team Leader plays an important role in supporting the effective operation of the Registry. The role is responsible for receiving, allocating, monitoring and reviewing registration and reporting tasks for registrable offenders across Victoria. The position also supports accurate information management, maintains relevant databases and assists with the coordinated disclosure of permitted information from the Sex Offenders Register.
