Shelter Medicine Animal Health Technician (ANML HEALTH TCHN 3 VMTH)

Independent of supervision in a high-quality, high-volume surgical setting, responsible for monitoring, treatment, and care of patients, including those with potentially life-threatening illness or injury. Under direction of the UC Davis Koret Shelter Medicine Programs Chief of Service, Shelter Medicine Animal Care Clinic Supervisor, provide veterinary technical support to the veterinarians and veterinary students enrolled in the Shelter Medicine and Surgery Rotation at the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. On a daily basis, independently perform and/or assist students with physical exams, administer anesthesia, monitor anesthesia and recovery, aseptic preparation of patients for various surgical procedures, student instruction, volunteer and staff supervision, clinician support, and facility support.RECRUITMENT PERIOD ONE MONTH: Applicants will be screened after two weeks; and then on a weekly basis.
