Job Description
Overview
To ensure that shipments arrive at their destinations on time and within budget. To coordinate incoming shipments, oversee outgoing shipments, and negotiate transportation costs with carriers.
Duties and responsibilities Negotiating the price of shipment transportation with carriers. Ensure and oversee the smooth dispatch of shipment from point A to point B on time and on budget. Processing shipment documentation and assessing completed orders. Creating and implementing shipping policies and procedures. Hiring, training, and supervising shipping employees. Acting as a liaison between management, carriers, and shipping customers. Collaborating with internal departments to optimize the flow of orders from preparation to shipment.
