Solar Service Technician

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Service Technician is responsible for the diagnostic testing, troubleshooting, and repair of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. While installers focus on initial assembly, the Service Technician handles the oddball challenges of maintaining existing systems, identifying equipment failures, and performing specialized repairs on rooftops, ground mounts, and custom structures.

Daily Activities Include:

• Advanced Troubleshooting: Perform root-cause analysis on failing or underperforming PV systems, identify isolation faults, diagnose and fix 3X9B errors (optimizers over voltage) etc.
• Technical Repairs: Replacing inverters, optimizers, and failed modules; performing one-off structural or electrical fixes.
• Site Inspections: Assessing aging systems for safety hazards, animal damage, or weather-related wear and tear.
