Specialist - Obstetrics & Gynaecology

Overview

Carrying out obstetric and gynecologic health care both on an in‑patient and out‑patient basis for those patients designated as being entitled to such care.

Responsibilities

• Will perform professional duties as a consultant obstetrician‑gynecologist, including providing surgical care both in the operating room and in the OPD for gynecologic and obstetric conditions for both emergency and planned procedures.
• Cover the Delivery Room: admitting patients, reviewing their history, planning a course of action, performing both spontaneous and operative deliveries, and interacting with midwives.
• Cover the Emergency Service by promptly responding to calls for consultation.
• Do and interpret ultrasound examinations both in hospital and on an out‑patient basis.
• Interpret fetal heart rate monitoring and take appropriate action.
• Carry out formal and informal consultations from physicians on other services.
