Specialty Doctor Ophthalmology

This will be a full-time, substantive Specialty Doctor post in Ophthalmology. The role will deliver clinical activity across several subspecialties within Ophthalmology. There will be opportunities to become more deeply involved in specific areas of interest with evidence of appropriate aptitude. The post will assist the department to deliver the required access times for patients., The principal role of the post-holder is to be an active member of the clinical team undertaking outpatient and acute access clinics across a variety of subspecialties within Ophthalmology including medical retina, glaucoma, neuro-ophthalmology, anterior segment, vitreo-retinal and eye casualty.

• To provide high quality ophthalmic assessment, treatment and management for service users.
• To provide clinical activity that is efficient to optimise access times for patients.
• To deal with clinical queries that arise from personal clinical activity and that of peers.
