Substitute Bus Attendant

Hours: M – F, 6:45 am – 9:45 am & 1:30 pm – 4:30 pm, as needed

Effective: 2025-26 School Year (subject to annual reappointment)

Description: Supervise students riding the school bus on an “as needed basis” in accordance with the established rules for conduct and safety. Load and unload students on bus; maintain safety order on bus; attend to students with special needs; ensure all students are seated while the bus is in motion; report any unusual, improper, irregular, or unsafe situations; assist with bus cleanliness, sanitation when needed; handle other related duties, as needed.

Requirements:







+ Work well with children and maintain discipline

+ NYSED fingerprint clearance

+ Pass criminal background check and be certified by the Nassau County Police Department (as a school bus aide)
