Position Summary Is accountable for the Laboratory Outreach Services. As a result of this responsibility, may be contacted on a 24-hour basis for professional opinions. Organizes the department workflow daily through the assignment of duties to co-workers in such a manner as to achieve daily goals. Knowledgeable of patient registration to include billing and laboratory test procedures with defined automated procedures, calculations and/or indicators that are age dependent (adults, children, adolescents, neonate and geriatric patients). Supervises sendout testing procedures . Responsible for training personnel. Maintains departmental inventory and orders as needed. Must stay abreast of advancements in his/her field. Is responsible for recognizing and implementing additional services to his/her department through collaboration with the Outreach Business Manager, as trends in technology, instrumentation and physician ordering patterns suggest the need.
