A Tool Maker C is an experienced-level professional with the expectation to have proficient machining and fabrication knowledge that will translate to a quick impact on meeting production needs. Tool Makers are responsible for fabricating, building, handling, repairing and integrating complex parts, assemblies and machines normally used in engineering prototypes, one of a kind product or low volume manufacturing. They may design and fabricate manufacturing assembly aids and tooling. They work from blueprints, process sheets and sketches to perform production tasks, which includes the cutting and shaping of metal to precision dimensions. They monitor and verify the quality of machining operations against quality control procedures. They often interface with engineers in prototyping and optimizing assembly processes and procedures for manufacturability.
