Transformative Biology & Science Teacher for Grades 11-Matric

Science and biology teacher: Petri van Wyk

Petri van Wyk describes himself as “a teacher by heart”.

With over a decade of experience, he said while he teaches both science and biology, the latter is his true passion.

Van Wyk graduated from the University of Pretoria in 2008 with a bachelor of science degree in human physiology, genetics and psychology and is currently the head of the sciences department at Windhoek Afrikaanse Privaatskool.

As a biology teacher, I have the responsibility of educating learners about the wonders of life and living organisms. I specifically teach grade 11 and matric learners, he said.

His primary goal is to help learners get an understanding and appreciation of biological concepts, ranging from the cellular level to complex ecosystems. I aim to make science engaging and accessible, encouraging critical thinking.
