Transportation Maintenance Worker (Heavy Equipment Operator)

Position

Temporary Full‑Time (40 hours per week) Equipment Operator / General Labour – 6‑month contract starting October 2026.

York Region – Public Works – Roads, Traffic & Fleet

Locations: Central Patrol Yard – 16042 Woodbine Avenue, Newmarket, ON L3Y 4X1; North Patrol Yard – 3525 Baseline Road, Sutton, ON L0E 1R0; South East Roads Operations Centre – 1700 Major MacKenzie Drive, Richmond Hill, ON L4C5J1; South West Roads Operations Centre – 2850 Rutherford, Concord, ON L4K 2N9; various other locations (Primary).

What We Need

Reporting to the District Roads Supervisor, with technical direction from the Lead Operator, you will carry out the full range of activities required to ensure the York Region road system complies with maintenance standards. You will operate specialized heavy‑duty regional and rented equipment as well as perform manual labour tasks.
