Truck Driver

General Statement of Job

Under regular supervision, drives a food service truck, ensuring the prompt and proper delivery of student meals to schools. Assists with cleaning and sanitizing kitchen ware and other food service activities as requested. Reports to the Food Service Manager and/or Central Kitchen Supervisor.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Functions:

Loads food and supplies onto food service truck; drives truck to deliver meals and catered foods to and from schools and other sites on schedule. Follows established guidelines regarding the safe handling of food products; operates truck according to specific directions, routes and schedules provided by Manager.

Conducts routine safety inspections of vehicle; sanitizes transporting compartment of truck daily; fuels truck as needed.

Assists with special waste disposal, stocking produce and supplies, cleaning kitchen ware, and preparing food as directed.
